The Weekly Stoke: Kilian Jornet on Matterhorn, drowning in space, bear attacks and young achievement in the high country

A pretty huge week in the world of the outdoors. Let’s get it started here on the Weekly Stoke!

Kilian Jornet continues to amaze. The ultra runner and speed climber set a new record for the fastest-ever ascent of the Matterhorn.

As if doing a spacewalk isn’t dangerous enough, this astronaut relates how he almost drowned in his spacesuit.

A rash of bear attacks has people wondering what can be done to stem the problem.

A Colorado seventh-grader has already done what takes many people years in their adulthood to do: He’s summited all 58 of his state’s 14,000-foot peaks.

And here’s a bit of news that I found interesting. It seems that ex-military personnel have found a home working in the National Parks System. Meet a guy whose job is one we might all envy, that of a public affairs specialist at Yellowstone National Park.

Enjoy your weekend, folks!
