It’s unfortunate that The Military will not be able to march the course. It really bothers me. Can you think of a group that has been vetted more extensively than members of our military? Well, maybe the Secret Service.
They very easily could have put an officer in charge of managing this “operation” and being the point man for this activity. They do this for a living.
I understand the need for security and to make a security presence to make the public feel comfortable. I also understand that the BAA is at the mercy of the State and local police departments. The BAA is not all powerful. We are a nation of laws and that means compliance with the authorities. Without this compliance our society would begin to look like so many of the basket cases we see daily on CNN.
I firmly believe that last year was a one-off event and that we are beyond a reasonable response.
I agree. Surely there is a way to inspect those rucks and let them through. I like seeing the soldiers, firefighters and cops marching and running in formation at events like these.
